Symphony and Forage are products made out of our need to reduce, reuse, recycle, even in deodorant. Our bottler was doing its best, but it would lose a lot of product to make Pit Liquor. We saw an opportunity to recapture or upcycle that product. This new reclaimed spirit is 35% ABV, so we froze it, removed the oils, and brought it up to 70% ABV. This new 70% spirit is the base of Symphony (2026) and Forage (2025)

We found in 2025 that a single fragrance or top note would present itself based on the signatures and limited editions we made in 2024. In 2025, the base spirit of Forage really leaned in to the top note of Geosmin, which smells of fresh rain or petrichor. This came from our release of In The Woods (2024). To showcase that fresh rain, we wanted to lean into an earthy, forest floor, found fragrance vibe, so we added local rosemary, lavender, and Citra hops. A customer review, "Forage is earthy and woodsy, but with a sharpness to it as well - the scent profile kind of lives at the cross-section of all my other favorites" That is exactly what we were going for, but in 2026 we wanted to try something new.

In 2026, we made quite a few fragrances that we expected to take the top note of the 2026 base spirit and to our surprise it was Palo Santo. Palo Santo is sweet, spicy, and woody, so wanted to lean into an spicy, fruity, composed by nature vibe. We added bergamont, patchouli, sandalwood to both brighten it up and maintain that woodsy character. What really surprised us was how the notes of Symphony improved when blended with a small amount of Glamping oils in the mix. We discovered this entirely by accident when we were scent testing Symphony with a bottle that previously held Glamping. With that discovery we could begin making a new scent for 2026 all our own.

Will there be a new Symphony or Forage in 2027, no! Our new bottling line is much more efficient and allows us to recycle that product into the next batch.

Once its gone its gone!

I also really miss the simple food-based scents. I don’t haven’t liked these recent more purfume-y abstract concepts of scents. And I bought glamping. Instead of smelling like woods and rain, it smells like generic guy bath products.

I feel similarly to Hannah in the previous comment. I loved Berry Pie and all the other fruit/food-based scents. I am allergic/intolerant to a lot of scents, so I’m not buying things with sandalwood or lavender. This company was a place I could come and get fun scents that didn’t incorporate those sorts of irritants. Give me more citrus, apple, pear, berry, etc.

I get that brands evolve, but Pit Liquor has changed so much since I first started buying it (when the bottles had hand-drawn looking labels). I haven’t liked any of the new scents that have come along after Pine & Peppermint. (I believe the name got changed to Winter.) I guess that’s good, because I won’t have to worry about falling in love with a scent and never being able to buy it again.

I’d give anything to have Pear & Cardamom and Berry Pie back. It seems like you’re more interested in creating catchy names (Glamping – gag me) than sticking with what works.

It’s unfortunate you made such a poor business decision in partnering up with the people who screwed you over. The brand went noticeably downhill as a result. I’ve gotten about 6 friends hooked on Pit Liquor and they all feel the same way.
