At Pit Liquor, we love our Whiskey!
We source our white Whiskey from a number of small local distilleries based on availability and quality of production. The Pacific Northwest has a great many local distilleries (A list can be found here). We once had a large number of available producers to choose from as spirits production was growing across the category. It is common knowledge that the distilled spirits industry is struggling with sales and we are doing our part to focus our purchasing from those closest to us or closest to our farmers and producers.
We have chosen to partner with each distillery based on the proximity and quality of the local ingredients Corn from Quincy, WA to Malt from Burlington, WA and Skagit Valley Malting. We blend the Corn Whiskey and Single Malt Whiskey together. We then introduce water to proof down the blended whiskey from 70% ABV to around 40% ABV similar to Bourbon Whiskey. Then we add a lot of salt to make it poor tasting and to help draw bacteria out through the finished deodorant product.
The finished whiskey is too salty to be drinkable, but when we add our tea base to create a beautiful whiskey base. You can find our whiskey base in scents like Black Pepper Clove, Bourbon Vanilla, and Cedar + Fir as well as roller and spray bundles as well as many past and future limited editions.
